About the project:
This project was the first of its kind in Colombia and involved the construction of a wastewater interceptor tunnel excavated in soft soils, 9.4 kilometers long, with an external diameter of 4.52 meters and an internal diameter of 3.75 meters. This tunnel was used to construct a TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) and prefabricated segments 25 cm thick. It also included 17 shafts with internal diameters of up to 18 m and depths of over 20 m for the tunnel's construction and subsequent operation, as well as additional structures for its construction and subsequent operation. The tunnel was constructed using TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) technology, a mole-type tunnel boring machine, enabling its execution with minimal impact on mobility and the environment.
