The future of mobility in Bogotá is consolidated through important works
- One of the most important construction projects is underway on Avenida Suba and Calle 100, where Transmilenio improvements are underway.
- Conconcreto has generated nearly 1.500 direct jobs through the execution of four construction projects in the nation's capital with the Urban Development Institute (IDU).
- For the Regional Railway Company (EFR) in the municipality of Soacha, Conconcreto is building the El Vínculo portal yard of the NQS trunk line of the Transmilenio system, which will impact the mobility of more than 1 million residents of the area and surrounding municipalities.
Bogotá has embarked on the path to the metro and the revitalization of public spaces in strategic locations that will benefit millions of citizens. The various projects that continue demonstrate this, and the Urban Development Institute has announced the progress percentages for some of these vital construction projects for the future of mobility in the nation's capital.
One of the most notable is the intervention being carried out by Conconcreto at the intersection of Avenida Suba and Calle 100, where various projects are currently underway. For example, preliminary work is underway for the construction of two infrastructures that will facilitate the flow of articulated buses between Avenida Suba and Calle 100 (underground). In addition, parallel to Suba, a bridge is being built exclusively for Transmilenio use and will pass over the current intersection.
Additionally, a new Transmilenio station is being built to replace the existing one, and two additional stations will be built along the alignment of the Avenida 68 metro feeder line.

Another notable project at this intersection is the "Emisario Norte" rainwater collector; a project that spans approximately 1.200 meters, with a two-meter-diameter concrete pipeline, three outlet wells, and two launch wells using trenchless "Pipe Jacking" technology, which minimizes the impact on residents by saving time on open-air excavations.
Sidewalk and bike path renovation on 116th Street
Conconcreto is also renovating sidewalks and bike paths on two sections of 116th Street: from Carrera Novena to the Autopista Norte highway, and from there to Avenida Boyacá. The works represent the construction of public spaces that facilitate pedestrian and cyclist traffic, with 50.152 square meters of sidewalks, 3,87 kilometers of bike paths, and 8.390 square meters of green space.
The project is nearly 40% complete and is expected to benefit nearly two million people in the towns of Suba and Usaquén.

El Vinculo Portal Patio Project
This infrastructure project, located in Soacha, consists of the construction of a bus portal and parking lot for the Transmilenio system, which will connect the population of this municipality and its surrounding areas with Bogotá.
The project is currently in its 12th month of construction, during which time various activities have been carried out, both in the corridor and in the Patio Portal. Construction includes the construction of the project's buildings, including: the access building, the administrative building, the articulated bus maintenance platforms, the intercity bus platform, and a tunnel connecting these two platforms, allowing passengers to access the Transmilenio service.
The structures of these buildings were constructed using prefabricated elements supplied by Industrial Conconcreto. Incorporating them into the design has allowed for improved performance and significantly increased progress within the construction schedule.
The system's buses will operate seamlessly on the Southern Highway, using a curved vehicular bridge that will connect the Patio Portal with the Transmilenio trunk line. The structure consists of five supports and a 2.25-meter-high box girder; the bridge is 315 meters long and 10 meters wide. Phase one of the bridge is currently under construction, corresponding to the works being carried out within the Patio Portal lot. This is due to the fact that the management and construction work for the transfer of medium- and low-voltage networks along the corridor are being carried out in coordination with the Public Service Companies.
More works, more jobs
Ricardo Rodríguez, Conconcreto's regional infrastructure director, explained that in Bogotá, the organization is participating in four major projects for the Urban Development Institute (IDU), including groups 5 and 8 of the aforementioned Metro feeder trunk line, Avenida 68.
"We've made significant progress on the projects and have managed to directly recruit 1.500 people. There are skilled and unskilled workers, many of whom are hired from the Suba and Barrios Unidos communities. The projects are projected to generate jobs for a period of five years," Rodríguez concluded.
