Contree Las Palmas, a real estate project by Conconcreto, received CASA certification.
- The project successfully completed the design phase, achieving water savings of 34% and energy consumption of 26.8%.
- One of the benefits of this type of construction is that customers receive a preferential mortgage rate, which translates to 65 points lower than a conventional mortgage rate.
Starting this year, the Ministry of Housing has allocated a budget of nearly 250 billion pesos for its Ecobertura program, which offers subsidies for the purchase of non-VIS homes certified for sustainable construction.
This is the case of the CASA Colombia Certification from the Colombian Sustainable Construction Council (CCCS), which is user-centered and recognizes projects that incorporate comprehensive sustainability. It was awarded to the Contree Las Palmas project by Conconcreto, located in the city of Medellín (located on Calle 16 with Carrera 27, Las Palmas road).
“The project was approved in the design phase, achieving overall savings of 34% in water consumption and 26.8% in energy consumption, so the families living there will have better resource management; all thanks to the specifications for sanitary equipment and fixtures implemented from the design stage. The company continues to actively participate in the project lifecycle. We have been innovating to design and specify sustainable strategies that translate into water and energy savings, as well as optimal waste and material management,” highlighted Carolina Bedoya, director of comfort and sustainability design at Conconcreto.
Likewise, he highlighted that the project investment to qualify for CASA certification was below 0.33% (direct construction costs and indirect costs corresponding to designs, analysis and payment to certified entities),

Another highlight is the implementation of a strategy for reusing and managing rainwater falling from the roofs of Towers One and Two. Each tower will have a 5m³ storage tank for its use, allowing it to be used to irrigate green areas, minimizing the consumption of drinking water for maintenance.
To improve the efficiency of drinking water use in the interior spaces of residential units, high-performance water-saving devices will be installed, helping to reduce consumption. According to calculations, a 68.75% savings in drinking water used for landscaping and irrigation systems will be achieved. The implementation of native species in landscaping contributes to reducing water consumption for maintaining green areas.
Thanks to the application of energy generation technology through a photovoltaic system, an annual energy saving of approximately 28% will be achieved, taking
taking into account the surplus generated for the electrical system grid. The estimated annual generation will be 25.011 kWh/year.
One of the major benefits of this type of construction is the preferential rate applied to the construction loan, which allows for interest savings of approximately 450 million pesos compared to a traditional loan. Additionally, there is a preferential mortgage rate for clients, which translates to 65 points lower than a conventional rate.
