  • Likewise, CASA Colombia received recognition as a "Green Leader" from the Colombian Sustainable Construction Council.

Bogotá, April 2022. Conconcreto held its General Shareholders' Meeting, where various news and results were announced. Its consolidation as a leader in Latin America and the United States in digital transformation and innovation in the construction sector, with sustainability as its cornerstone, was highlighted.

Conconcreto, now 60 years old, reported a backlog of 3,2 trillion pesos among its financial results, the highest in the last five years. It was also announced that it has awarded contracts for execution between 2022 and 2025 for a total of one trillion pesos. Consolidated equity stood at 1.61 trillion pesos.

The organization has made a real commitment to working with sustainability as an essential pillar. “To that end, in 2021 we leveraged technologies and digital tools to increase productivity and build the future of our clients, always committed to minimizing our impact on the environment. Actions speak for themselves, and among the milestones we achieved are the inauguration of the Infrastructure and Construction Innovation Habitat for Colombia, in addition to receiving the CASA Colombia Green Leader award from the Colombian Sustainable Construction Council,” reported Juan Luis Aristizábal Vélez, president of Conconcreto.

It's worth noting that three projects are also in the process of obtaining CASA Colombia certification, which recognizes their overall sustainability. Camacol also received recognition with the Social Responsibility Award for its Cultural Transformation program and the ELE16 project.

Much of this work has been achieved thanks to a team of more than 180 collaborators dedicated to generating knowledge through the integration of designs using the BIM methodology. They are trained to provide design services to U.S. standards.

Aligned with the SDGs and global commitment

The company has charted a course with actions aimed at contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where significant progress has been made.

Under SDG 1, the end of poverty, 600 billion pesos have been allocated to the social management of infrastructure projects, where 2.950 people have benefited from community and social mobilization activities, actions carried out through the Conconcreto Foundation.

A total of 135.743 hours of training were provided to employees. Thirty-two students were trained at the BIM training center, nine of whom joined the organization. No less important, 32 talented young people from seven schools in Medellín were supported to enhance their digital skills. This is all within the framework of supporting SDG 20, which seeks quality education.

In the case of SDG 7, focused on affordable and clean energy, important goals were achieved, such as 2,19 kg less CO2 emissions per day, thanks to the 206 employees who took advantage of the flexispace or work-from-home option. Additionally, a partnership was established with Azimut Energía to further implement energy efficiency strategies in construction projects. Another tactic was the use of the Try My Ride tool, an application that connects employees to share their routes and reduce indirect emissions.

“At Conconcreto, we are committed to long-term sustainability from a social, economic, and environmental perspective, because it is the path to transforming the environment and improving the quality of life and well-being of the communities we serve,” concluded Juan Luis Aristizábal Vélez, president of Conconcreto.

As part of its internationalization strategy, the company sold 890 homes in South Florida for USD 285 million across 35 projects during the first quarter of the year, demonstrating that its consolidation in other markets is on the right track.
